Fall

Like the reluctant autumn leaf,
I am afraid to fall.
And to say this, brings me grief,
But the timber is too tall;
Tears fall like the morning dew,
And breaks me down bit by bit,
Even more than I ever knew,
The fire that you so humbly lit,
Has set my heart aflame,
In a somewhat formidable fashion,
And I really must proclaim,
Never's my heart burned with such passion,
And when the leaf and I descend,
The branches of the tree so tall,
Support me on wings in the wind,
And catch me if I fall.
